Geroskipou Beach (Rikkos Beach)
Alright, I’ve got a spot that’s as calm and pleasant as a Sunday morning in Geroskipou: Geroskipou Beach (or Rikkos Beach, and sometimes even known as Atlantida Beach), and it’s the beach of dreams.
Get this – it’s a long and wide stretch of beach between Paphos and the airport that offers visitors a peaceful sea (thanks to those breakwaters), plenty of parking, and not one, not two, but THREE charming beach bars. We’re talking straight out of a catalog, folks – except it exists for real!
And let’s talk about that beach – it’s elongated, sandy, and gently sloping. Plus, there aren’t any prominent currents or disturbing rocks to worry about.
And thanks to those breakwaters, the beach is exceptionally peaceful and great for kids.
But here’s the best part – the infrastructure is seriously generous.
You’ve got toilets, showers, foot showers, dressing rooms, comfortable chairs and umbrellas, AND a restaurant.
Talk about living the high life, baby. Thee beach is accessible by public transportation, with parking right on the beach.
Now, let’s talk about the advantages of this spot – it’s spacious and quiet (at least for today’s visit), and occasionally you’ll even get a view of planes landing (how cool is that?).
But of course, there are some disadvantages – the water can be a bit murky, and you’ll find seaweed on both the water and sand.
Plus, there are a few stones in the sand. But trust me, it’s worth it to experience all the positives of Geroskipou Beach.
