But fear not, my friends! While it might not win any taste tests, it’s safe to drink. However, bottled Water might be more up your alley if you’re all about that crisp, refreshing H2O experience.

Nothing beats an ice-cold water bottle on a scorching hot day.

Who knows? Maybe you’ll take one sip of the tap water and say, “Wow, this is the best water I’ve ever had.”

Yes, you can drink tap water in Paphos – but I would still recommend you buy a water bottle instead because the taste is much better, and you can buy it cold as ice.

Water bottles in Paphos are not expensive and may cost you around €0.90-€1.50.

So, if you’re looking for a safe and tasty way to stay hydrated in Paphos, my advice is to go for bottled Water instead of relying solely on tap water.

What do other tourists and locals think about the tap water in Paphos?

It’s funny because while I was writing this article for you, someone posted on my Facebook group this question: “Can you drink tap water in Cyprus? Googled it and got different answers”.

And here’s what the locals and tourists in Paphos had to say:

-For the cost, We always buy bottled Water to be safe

-I have been drinking tap water for 24 years and am still alive and healthy. Drink it from the hot and cold tap’s special water tap.

-I have Been drinking it for almost 11 years and never had a problem.

-Always do, never been ill.

-It’s OK but it can be too warm in the summer.

-Supposedly, it’s more regulated than bottled Water. However, Water in the cities doesn’t taste very nice. It’s all about how fussy you are about your Water’s flavor. I don’t drink it.

-It does not taste pleasant; buy bottled.

-I always drink tap water.

-I always buy bottled.

-I always put a bottle in the freezer, ready for the next day with a slice of lemon have been doing it for years since I was a child, and I’m still here

-No problem with mains water – do not drink Water from the toilet as it’s tank water – on the kitchen taps, there are three sources of mains water, usually the tiny separate tap at the side – the other two come from tanks. Been drinking mains for five years and have had no problem. If you aren’t sure, buy bottled it’s not expensive.

-You can drink but it doesn’t taste too good.

– it’s a different taste to uk drinking Water as it doesn’t contain sewage

-It’s OK if, in the Paphos region, you’ll be pleased it’s come out of the ground or from a reservoir; rather than via 14 other people like in most parts of the U.K. Make sure it’s from the dedicated fresh water tap and not your hot/cold feeds as they’re from the plastic tank on your roof.

-You want to buy Kykos water, it’s the best. Previously I forgot to get Water and drink from the tap; make sure you drink the mains water and not your cold tank on the roof!

As you can see, there are mixed opinions from locals and tourists.

Ultimately, deciding whether to drink tap or bottled Water in Paphos is up to you. But given the excellent safety standards of tap water in Cyprus, you can rest assured that whatever your choice may be, you will stay hydrated and safe during your trip to Paphos!

But if you want to go on safe – buy bottled Water; it’s not expensive and readily available. So why take the chance; stay safe and hydrated with great-tasting bottled Water!

But again, that’s my honest opinion about the tap water in Paphos – they are drinkable, but from my point of view, they are not tasty.

But I have a few local friends who only drink tap water in Paphos because they liked the taste or got used to it, and they are still alive and healthy.

So, it’s totally up to you which one you decide!

Give it a try – who knows, maybe you will be OK with the tap water!

But if you are still not sure, always opt for bottled Water. It’s ultimately worth it to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip to Paphos! So why take the chance; stay safe and hydrated with great-tasting bottled Water!
