How to get around Paphos

How to get around Paphos

Car rentals

The best way to move around Paphos is definitely by renting a car.

It’s the easiest and most convenient way, thanks to the good roads in Cyprus and the highways connecting Nicosia to Larnaca, Limassol to Paphos, and Paphos to Ayia Napa.

And if it’s not enough, the distances are relatively short: for example, Paphos to Nicosia is less than 160 km!

All the road signs are in Greek and English, so you won’t have to worry about getting lost.

Buses

Regarding public transportation, there is only one option available to travelers here in Paphos: buses.

One of the most common choices for getting around in Paphos and Cyprus is taking the bus, which can be inexpensive and travel on a fixed schedule.

In the city of Paphos itself, there is quite convenient public transportation with modern buses and relatively high frequency.

Please notice that payment is made in front of the bus driver.

Travel costs (as of the time of writing this post):

Adult – 2 euros per trip; until 21:00, the price increases to 3 euros per trip.

There is an option for a daily free ticket for 6.5 euros and even a weekly ticket if you stay more than six days.

Child up to 5 years old (inclusive) – free.

Children up to the age of 12 – pay half price.

The main bus lines operating in Paphos:

Line 615

This line operates between the Coral Bay area and the port of Paphos and back.

During the summer, the bus leaves every 10-15 minutes.

Central stations of the line:

Port of Paphos, Avenue of the Kings Mall, Tombs of the Kings, Venus Hotel, King Ableton Hotel area, Flea Market, Laura Hotel, Asia Hotel, Futima Beach, Coral Bay Beach, Lauro Beach.

Line 611

This line operates between the Paphos port area and the Aphrodite water park.

In the morning and evening, the bus frequency is every 10 minutes.

Central stations of the line: Paphos Port, Annabelle Hotel, Almira Hotel, Alexander the Great Hotel, Amphora Hotel, Avanti Resort, and Aphrodite Water Park.

Line 631

This line runs between the Paphos port area and Aphrodite Rock.

Central stations of the line: Port of Paphos, Annabelle Hotel, Almira Hotel, Alexander the Great Hotel, Amphora Hotel, Avanti Resort, Timi Village, Alothkia, and Aphrodite Rock.

Line 612

This line operates between Paphos Airport and Paphos Port.

Public transportation to the Blue Lagoon

For those who wish to get from Paphos to the port of Lachi for a cruise to the Blue Lagoon, you should consider that it is a change of 3 different buses.

From Paphos port to the central station (about 15 minutes) – line 618 From the central station in Paphos to Polis (about 45 minutes) – line 645 From Polis to the port of Lachi (about 10 minutes) – line 622.

Intercity buses

In addition to the city buses in Paphos, there is public transportation between the various cities in Cyprus; the InterCity Company provides this service.

The main lines operating from the Paphos area are:

From Larnaca to Paphos via Limassol and back, From Nicosia to Paphos and back, and from Paphos to Limassol and back.

Taxis

Taxis in Paphos can be a convenient form of transportation when traveling to a new city or needing a reliable ride.

Look for designated taxi stands at airports or popular tourist sites to locate taxis.

It is also possible to hail a taxi on the street, but it is essential to ensure that the vehicle is correctly marked with a taxi sign and that the driver has proper credentials.

Anyway, you won’t have any problem finding a taxi here in Paphos, because there are so many of them!
